I’m Daniel Ilett. My goal with this website (and my YouTube channel) is to pass on important knowledge about shaders and other gamedev topics in a format that’s easy to grasp for beginners but also worthwhile for intermediate users. Here’s a bunch of stuff I do (or did) outside of the website:
I’m a PhD candidate at the University of Warwick, working with HDR video delivery to mobile devices. At the time of writing, I’m almost finished! I graduated in 2018 with a first-class Computer Science MEng from Warwick after four long but enjoyable years!
In my time at Warwick, I co-founded Warwick Nintendo Society and helped it become an official Warwick SU society, staying on the exec committee for a very long time. I climbed through the ranks of Warwick Game Design Society’s exec committee to become President for about 4 years, but the torch has now been passed on.
You can find me all over the internet using the social links at the bottom of the page!
How to support me
I’m supported by amazing people like you! I’m able to keep my articles free because of those who can donate, and if you can’t, then it helps me when you let people know about my tutorials!
Support Me on Patreon
Lots of goodies are up for grabs on my Patreon, depending on the tier you choose - from early access and your name in the credits, all the way to bonus copies of my asset packs.
Buy Me a Coffee on Ko-Fi
If you don’t want to pledge every month, then maybe Ko-Fi is for you. If you really enjoyed one of my articles or videos and want to give a small contribution, then you can buy me approximately a coffee. Trust me, I appreciate the coffee!
Email Newsletter
And of course, a great way to support the site is to stay on top of new articles. You can do that with good old-fashioned email!
